Keto halloumi friendly
Keto halloumi is a cheese made from a blend of goat’s and sheep’s milk. It has a high fat content and a low carbohydrate content, making it a great choice for those following a ketogenic diet. It can be used in a variety of recipes, from appetizers and salads to main dishes, and its texture and flavor make it a popular ingredient for grilling, frying, or baking. Keto halloumi has a mild, slightly salty taste and a firm texture that can remain even when cooked.
Ingredients for Keto halloumi
- 8 ounces Haloumi Cheese
- 2 ounces Tallow or Lard
- 1 serve Low Carb Marinara Sauce
INSTRUCTIONS:
Slice the haloumi into fries at least 7mm/0.3in thick and sit on paper towel to dry.
Place the tallow into a large non-stick frying pan and place over medium to high heat. You want the tallow to be around 170C/340F.
Gently add the haloumi pieces, I suggest using a pair of tongs as the tallow will spit hot fat.
Once all the haloumi is added, cover the pan with a splatter guard.
Cook the haloumi for about 2 minutes on each side, until golden brown and crunchy.
Serve with a side of Low Carb Marinara Sauce for dipping.
